Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. The donation of citizens' time and talents helps keep PSSCA stay healthy and vibrant while other organizations have been less successful. We are an integral part of Portland's history and need ongoing help from volunteers to be part of Portland's future.

We are presently seeking volunteers to help with our 50th Anniversary celebration. The requirements are simple: A willingness to give some time to a worthy cause. Use your talents on projects and events that benefit Portland and Oregon. Age doesn't matter; your great attitude does.

Our Board of Directors has many years' experience in promoting international relations. We provide expert guidance to our volunteers and the opportunity to connect with the Japanese community in a unique way.

Some of our opportunities are:
  • Communications and publicity
  • Being a chaperon or guide for Japanese tourists
  • Booth helper at an event
  • Food preparer or server
  • Making up fukubukuro bags for sale
  • Soliciting donations/fundraising
  • Working on one of our committees
  • Helping create an online history of the Association
  • Becoming a Board member
If you would like more information, one of our Directors will be happy to talk with you. Please contact us via email or by writing to us at the address in the Contact Us area of this site.

We look forward to hearing from you!
